Trosolwg o'r swydd

The overall aim of the post is to provide high quality specialist interventions within CAMHS  to improve outcomes for young people  who present with high risk behaviours and experience difficulties associated with emotional, behavioural  and interpersonal dysregulation.

  • To deliver Dialectical Behaviour Therapy(DBT) and Structured Clinical Management(SCM) within a specified CAMHS team. .
  • ·       To deliver DBT skills only groups and life skills courses in accordance with NICE guidelines, meet key performance indicators and agreed activity levels.
  • Offer consultation in the assessment and treatment of young people who present with high risk behaviours and with difficulties associated with an emerging personality disorder.
  • ·       To promote positive attitudes towards service users with complex needs, to maintain responsive and non-stigmatising services, which will enhance social inclusion and deliver better outcomes.
  • ·       To work closely/strengthen links with other specialist and other agencies as appropriate. 
  • ·       To provide gatekeeping assessments, assessments of need and therapeutic interventions.
  • ·       Support young people to develop skills and strategies to manage emotional dysregulation, guided by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy principles.

To take a leadership role in the delivery of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Structured Clinical Management to provide a high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service, including as a result of deliberate self-harm.

We are looking for a registered nurse, qualified social worker or equivalent with experience within a CAMHS setting. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivating, have the ability to case manage and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish good working relationships essential to the success of the service.

  • Ability to use judgement and analytic skills in complex clinical settings.
