Job overview

To practise as a highly specialist clinical practitioner, being a source of expertise, providing support, supervision, teaching, advice and consultation across BNSSG. To offer highly specialist clinical expertise for babies and young children with Dysphagia carrying own highly specialist case load within this specified clinical area.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide highly specialist support to babies and young children presenting with dysphagia on discharge from hospital into the community.

To provide expert second opinion and support to clinical staff in regards to this clinical specialism.

Working alongside the Clinical Lead for Dysphagia to monitor and report on activity and performance for this cohort of children

To work alongside Clinical Lead for dysphagia to develop and improve service delivery for this cohort of children,  ensuring services are high quality and evidence based.

Registration and Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Registered with the appropriate professional body (SLT)
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Masters level post qualification experience in Dysphagia
  • Post graduate qualification in dysphagia for under 1's

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in working in a multi disciplinary team
  • Experience in line managing and clinically supervising others
  • Experience in leading a project or service

Clinical Governance

Essential criteria
  • Understand clinical governance and how to deliver safe services for children and families
  • Understand and manage activity and performance in a team
