Trosolwg o'r swydd
An opportunity has arisen to join the crisis team within Emotional wellbeing mental health (previously CAMHS) team in Cardiff and Vale UHB to support young people presenting with complex mental health difficulties. It is a fixed term position for 1 year. You will provide evidence-based Dietetic information, highly specialised advice, education, training and support to the service users, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team.
Being professionally supported by Cardiff and the Vale Dietetic department means that you will have the support of a large forward thinking department to enhance and support your professional development as well as providing potential opportunities to enhance and develop this role in the future. The post holder will have close links with the community paediatric nutrition and dietetic team.
Clinical provision is based at St David's Hospital, Cardiff within EWMH. Applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant mental health experience for this specialist post.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, an open minded, non-judgemental approach to work alongside a practical, forward thinking approach to managing and prioritising a busy caseload. Excellent time management and organisational skills, plus the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team is a key requirement for this post. Supervision and support will be provided to support the successful candidate.

The post holder is the lead clinician for a highly specialist service to young people with a mental health disorder across Cardiff and Vale UHB. The overall aim is to provide Dietetic expertise , intervention and consultation as part of the EWMH Services with responsibility for:
- Prioritising and managing of a highly specialist caseload using evidence based patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate dietetic interventions in the Mental Health setting
- To work as part of the EWMH Services multidisciplinary team and establish links with Paediatric multidisciplinary teams to include identification of service improvements and supporting the progression of appropriate strategic developments in Wales.
- Providing highly specialist clinical advice which contributes to the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients/patients.
- Supervising and training of specialist Dietitians, new entrants, dietetic assistants, dietetic support workers and student Dietitians on National pre-registration training programme and other healthcare professionals in the field of dietetics for Mental Health patients on a day to day basis.
- Teaching dietetic principles and specialist clinical skills to a wide range of health professionals, patients and carers.
- Auditing the specialist area of clinical practice and service delivery using research methodology to improve patient care and present / publish results to promote evidence based practice.

- Evidence of current HPC registration. Degree, or equivalent, or post graduate qualification in dietetics Member of the British Dietetic Association or covered by professional indemnity insurance
- Clinical working with a broad range of patients across a variety of clinical settings. Clinical work in relevant specialist areas. Evidence of on-going CPD.
