An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the adult Dietetic Team at Royal Derby Hospital.

Your caseload will include respiratory, trauma and orthopaedics, neurology, surgery (gastrointestinal, vascular, gynaecology ultra-radical, complex urology), cardiology, general medicine, endocrinology. You may be due to qualify, newly qualified or have some experience.

All roles involve working with in-patients on a face-to-face basis. You may also participate in general clinics, telephone reviews, advice to relatives/ carers, group talks to patients, hospital staff education, local social media work and projects related to national activities (e.g. Dietitians Week, Nutrition & Hydration Week).

We are active in delivering dietetic student training from Sheffield, Nottingham and more recently apprenticeships.

There are many varied opportunities for professional development through clinical supervision, our excellent library service, internal formal education opportunities, and access to external training where this is identified as part of the appraisal process. There is also a multi-professional Trust preceptorship programme, with additional activities taking place within the department. The department is currently growing so there will be ongoing opportunities to develop over time.

You will be supported by dietetic assistants, specialist dietitians, team leaders, and a clerical team who form part of the large Dietetic department. Other services covered by the department include community, bariatric surgical services, diabetes, paediatrics, renal and oncology.
