Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Information Analyst to work specifically with the Pharmacy Department.

We are looking for a highly skilled, committed and self-driven individual who has the ability to plan and co-ordinate their workload according to deadlines, producing and developing analysed business reports from multiple sources for Financial Services, Pharmacy Leads and key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for managing the Pharmacy Data and Information Services adhering to data quality and governance policies and providing day to day maintenance and training for pharmacy information systems. You will lead on the adoption of dm&d and SNOMED coding for the Pharmacy system. You will also work closely with the Contract Income Teams to manage the Pharmacy side of the High Cost Medicines submission, challenge and investigations processes.

Advanced database, data analysis and data presentation skills are essential for this post and form the main focus of the role. Cohesion and collaboration with the teams ensures the optimum outcomes for the role and service.

There is further opportunity to support and influence exciting project developments, training of staff in digital information systems and using data to support the development of our patient focused medicines optimisation teams across the Trust and the evolution of our services

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Nationally recognised Business Administration/Digital/Data Analyst qualification
  • Expert Digital Literacy skills advanced in SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft products including Excel and Power BI
  • Educated to degree level or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience of specialist databases, data collection, audit, and analysis tools.
Desirable criteria
  • BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and are currently registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Practice Supervisor accreditation or equivalent qualification.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Advanced use and understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel especially), SSRS, SSMS, Power BI
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the role of Data within service provision
  • Delivering Digital/Data systems training
  • Evidence of advanced audit, data collection activities and analysis.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience and understanding of funding streams and processes for High-Cost Medicines and Blueteq.
  • Experience of designing and delivering data analysis in a clinical setting
  • Experience of use of specialised Pharmacy systems Emis Health Secondary Care, Define and ePACT2 reporting tools.
  • Experience in dealing with Freedom of Information requests

  • To be able to write reports and communicate complex information effectively, clearly, and concisely to a wide range of staff, healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Highly accurate with superior attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and manage own time flexibly to meet changing demands and deadlines
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of understanding of extended roles in Digital and High-Cost Medicines within hospital Pharmacy
