Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

NHS AfC: Band 7

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust are proud award winners of the HSJ Provider of the Year 2019

Job overview

We are advertising  a band 7 to 8a clinical or counselling psychologist development post working into our Early Intervention for Psychosis  service (Psypher) that covers Hull and East Riding.

It is a fulltime band 7 post that will transition into a 0.8 wte 8a post when all competencies are met.

We are looking for a clinician that will complete the two year CBTp PGDip training as part of the role to become an accredited CBT therapist.     We would also welcome applications from people currently meeting the 8a competencies who would, if successful, be appointed into the 8a role and would be supported to complete the CBTp PGDip if not already obtained.

Your direct clinical work will be located at Townend Court and across the Humber Trust footprint so the ability to travel efficiently across the patch is essential.

Your colleagues in the team will comprise a senior psychologist, an assistant psychologist, CBT therapists, nursing, social work, psychiatry and OT staff.

Please see additional document attached for details about the service, the development post and the AMH psychology specialty.

Main duties of the job

You will be providing   assessment of need and risk, formulation and short and long term intervention for the service users accessing Psypher which may include group as well as individual psychological intervention.

As you progress through your role you will be supported to facilitate forums that support staff such as reflective practice groups, formulation  groups and consultation.

You will be offering training to the team and will be engaged in the wider psychology  service through joint projects and attending specialty meetings.

You will be encouraged to  access peer support in the  newly qualified group that runs across the Divisions  as well as receiving managerial, clinical and professional supervision.

You will be supervising the assistant psychologist and contributing to the development of clinical psychology doctorate trainees until you have completed your supervision training  which will enable you to be the primary supervisor for a trainee .
