Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Medical Administration Team as the Medicine Rota coordinator, responsible for the management of medicine doctor's rotas within HHFT.  The successful candidate will work alongside Basingstoke and Winchester Rota Masters.

The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic and confident, with excellent organisation and problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Good communication and telephone skills are essential. Previous experience in a similar role would be highly desirable.

Main duties of the job

The Rota co-ordinator is responsible for the supporting of both Rota Masters in construction of the Medicine Junior Doctor on-call rota within HHFT including covering rota gaps, doctor leave management and to provide the first point of contact for the junior doctors.

The post holder must ensure the provision of high-quality patient care by efficiently deploying junior medical staff in the Medical Division.

This will involve close liaison with junior doctors, consultants, medical staffing, human resources recruitment and management teams.

It will be necessary to have a daily overview of the activities of all junior medical staff within the Division, anticipate problems and autonomously resolve situations expediently.

We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

The trust employs over 8,600 staff and has a turnover of over £450 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors.
