Job overview
The Research & Innovation Department at KMPT is expanding and we need someone to join the Research Quality team to help support with all aspects of research administration and coordinate the research management and governance activities during the lifecycle of all research studies at KMPT.
The role covers a wide variety of activities to help support the Research Quality team to ensure that all studies are set up and run appropriately. Working as part of the team the role will require carrying out and coordinating tasks during the feasibility assessment, set-up, and confirmation of capacity and capability processes for studies to open and thereafter. Upkeep of our local systems including our Local Portfolio Management System (EDGE) is a key aspect of this role and you will be required to ensure our study data is accurate and up to date to enable us to report appropriately to all internal and external stakeholders.
The role will also ensure general office management and support for the Research & Innovation team
Main duties of the job
Main duties:
- To ensure the smooth set up and day-to-day running of research studies by completing regulatory documentation within a given timeframe
- To establish and maintain efficient working practices, which ensure quality control of patient safety data
- To ensure that research documentation is maintained in line with KMPT research and development policy and supporting SOPs and remains within national regulatory and legal frameworks
- To ensure that reporting of research data meets national and local requirements
- Attend local trial set up meetings
- Responsible for forwarding data as required to Trust R&D department, Kent Surrey Sussex Local Research Network and other external organisations within specified deadlines as required
- To provide support to the clinical research team in daily trials activity and assist in workload management

- NVQ, Diploma or Higher National Certificate or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Understanding of health services research
- Understanding of mental health settings
Desirable criteria
- Previous research or clinical experience in mental health settings
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Problem solving abilities
- Able to work independently but guided by supervision
- Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet project deadlines
Desirable criteria
- Experience of online research databases (e.g. EDGE)
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
