Are you a motivated Physiotherapist with an interest in utilising your specialist skills with an interest in rehabilitation working as an autonomous practitioner?  If the answer is yes, then we have the ideal post for you.

The Care Home Support Team in Richmond is expanding and have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Specialist Rehabilitation Physiotherapist. You will work with residents and care home staff in assessing needs, setting goals, and reviewing outcomes. The aim is to support patients to optimise their function whilst supporting their independence wherever possible in the care home setting.

To perform physiotherapeutic assessments of residents with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions

To design and deliver individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills e.g., manual physiotherapy techniques, resident education, exercise classes and other alternative options

To facilitate service users and carers in the development of support plans, which meets their needs, outcomes and covers identified risks, offering the widest possible flexibility and choice allowing them to take control of their short-term goals

To evaluate resident progress through person-centered reviews and alter treatment programmes if required in partnership with other professionals in the multi-disciplinary team

To facilitate service user choice and empowerment through promoting independence, through the timely provision of information, advice, and support to ensure service users maintain independent for as long as possible

To work as an autonomous practitioner within the CHST to be   professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work within agreed national, local and professional standards and guidelines.

  • • Current Health Professions Council registration
  • • Evidence of personal/ professional development (portfolio) and the use of evidence-based practice in the clinical setting

  • • Appropriate post-graduate experience, including physical rehabilitation, care of the elderly, falls, orthopaedics, neurology
  • • Experience that covers core skills in rehabilitation including therapeutic handling, muscular-skeletal techniques respiratory, neurological, elderly
  • • Experience of the use of evidence-based practice in the clinical setting

Experience
