Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for individuals to apply for the above position at Berrywood Hospital, Northampton. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and self-motivated person to become a part of our team.

This position is within the Hotel Services Department which is part of the wider department consisting of Cleaning, Laundry, Catering, Porter, Reception and Front of House services across six hospital sites, health centres and administration buildings across Northamptonshire.

Hours: 15 Hours per week.

Shift pattern:  Saturday & Sunday, 09: 00am to 17:00pm (30 min unpaid break) Please note: Shift pattern may be subject to change.

This position may close early once sufficient applications are received.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include pushing meal trolleys, delivery of meals and provisions to the wards, washing up & cleaning of the kitchen area and equipment to the highest standard, general catering duties e.g. making sandwiches and salads and food preparation for the chefs.

Additional duties will also include supporting the Café during busy periods, serving customers, cash handling and being focused on maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

A good knowledge of catering practices and procedures will be required which may have been gained in a similar hospital environment or in the catering private sector.
