Would you like to work in a small and friendly critical care unit based at Bassetlaw Hospital? If you are a bright, enthusiastic qualified nurse who is new to critical care and eager to develop skills and knowledge, or you are an experienced critical care nurse then we want you.
Main duties of the job
At Bassetlaw Hospital we have 7 combined level 3 (ITU) and level 2 (HDU) beds. We care for a wide range of adult critically ill medical, surgical and elective cases. The unit has an excellent nursing skill mix and staff work in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We have a fully comprehensive career pathway offering induction, 12 week preceptorship and critical care qualifications at degree and master’s level, as well as advanced clinical skills and leadership opportunities. We have a critical care nurse consultant and clinical nurse educators to support you and there are many opportunities to be involved in service improvement and research projects.
We have a great working relationship with our medical teams who provide 24 hour cover to the unit and help support and educate the nurses. For experienced critical care nurses there are very good opportunities for career progression and for nurses new to the speciality we offer full support and development.
You will have the opportunity to rotate to Doncaster Critical Care during your preceptorship and according to your development needs.

- Supervised practice in an acute area

Qualifications/Training

- RN with current registration
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Learning portfolio / evidence of continuous development
- Up-to-date knowledge of professional issues

- Post registration qualifications relevant to Critical Care
- Bachelors degree in nursing / healthcare
