Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Acute Medicine medical team.

We are looking for 2 Specialist grade doctors in Acute Medicine. 

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical leadership in acute medical patient care developing the interface between Acute and Emergency Medicine. You will be part of a dedicated team of Acute Physicians providing Senor medical cover for our dynamic and well supported departments at UHNM.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • At least 6 years UK experience in General and Acute Internal Medicine
  • Completed at least 12 years full time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained on part time basis) or have equivalent experience and competencies
Desirable criteria
  • MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Specialty Certificate Examination in Acute Internal Medicine

Clinical experience and training

Essential criteria
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining (UK) CCT in Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) or General Internal Medicine (GIM)
Desirable criteria
  • Critical Care experience
  • Higher training in a dedicated Acute Medicine specialty training scheme

Academic achievements, research, publications

Essential criteria
  • Experience of conducting clinical audit
  • Ability to use the evidence base and clinical audit to support decision-making.
  • Ability to understand and apply re-search methodology
Desirable criteria
  • To have published in peer re-viewed journals.
