Psychiatric Liaison Team (AMHAT) Service Manager – Band 8a

Full time, permanent role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust to join our Urgent Care Senior Management Team.

The post holder will be a key member of the management team, who will be responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership and the overall planning, management and delivery of services within their designated service portfolio.

The Psychiatric Liaison Team (AMHAT) and High Intensity User Service are essential components of the crisis care pathway supporting our healthcare system for individual’s attending physical health care settings, namely Accident and Emergency with mental health needs or a combination of mental, physical, psychological and social factors. The Psychiatric Liaison Team is a multi-disciplinary team who assess all individuals who present with urgent mental health needs within the emergency portals, and inpatient areas. The High Intensity User Service supports individuals identified as frequently attending the Accident and Emergency department as a default position to attempt to have their needs met in order to reduce the impact on wait times and flow working in collaboration with partnership agencies to attempt to address this cohort of individual’s complex and diverse issues.

This post offers you the experience to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering a wide range of services to people with a variety of mental health needs, working closely with our Partner agencies and other third sector and statutory organisations .

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has a strong focus on service improvement, quality, development and integrated working. The successful post holder will need to be able to effectively set priorities and work in a busy environment. You will need to be approachable, have excellent communication and liaison skills to engage and collaborate with a number of colleagues and stakeholders across the services.

As an ambassador for Mental Health Services, you will champion the improvement and transformation of clinical services and help to drive the Mental Health operational agenda by demonstrating innovative patient and clinical outcomes. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Service for Urgent Care and Associate Director of Operations. Through well-established leadership skills and experience of management of clinical teams a visible operational leadership is imperative in conjunction in being flexible in approach to coordinate clinical leadership and monitor operational delivery.
