Children’s Physiotherapist - Band 6

37.5 hours per week (part time considered)

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist to join our progressive team at CWPT.

We provide specialist Physiotherapy assessment and intervention to a caseload of children and young people aged 0-19 years with opportunities to work in special schools, mainstream schools, early years, tonal management and MSK. We work closely with Occupational Therapy  and children’s physiotherapy respiratory colleagues, neonatal and alongside paediatric and orthopaedic consultants

We have an established supportive development program for new starters, along with regular clinical and management supervision, IST’s and journal clubs. CWPT support external CPD opportunities including apprenticeships.

Our service was recently recognised as the leading Trust nationally for re-establishing CPIP post Covid .

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

 Coventry Community Children's Physiotherapy offers a wide range of services from Early Years, Mainstream, Special Schools, MSK, Rheumatology, CPIP and Respiratory. The post holder will work within clinical speciality pathways with an opportunity to work across the 0-19 age range, based on yearly objective setting.

Providing innovative and evidence-based care to the children and young people of Coventry. CWPT also host a system wide Neonatal AHP team across Coventry and Warwickshire

We offer a well-established development programme for new starters with a designated experienced mentor up to your first twelve months within the department. This includes working with our clinical specialists across MSK, neonates, respiratory and tonal management. We are proud of our close links with the wider MDT and run a face to face MDT CPIP clinic with paediatric and orthopaedic consultants on a regular basis. 

You will be required to work autonomously and alongside other qualified staff, therapy assistants and other health and education staff as part of a multidisciplinary and multi-agency team.   This is a dynamic role where you will be working within community settings such as nurseries, schools, clinics and family homes. The post involves working with children with a wide range of disabilities and difficulties.

We have a strong commitment to clinical supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and offer a supportive and proactive environment. This includes regular in-service training and shared learning across the team. The post holder will contribute towards service development and is encouraged to be forward thinking with driving Children’s Physiotherapy forward.  

The service received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.

You will work closely with the Occupational Therapy, Community Children's Nurses, Orthopaedic consultants, Community Paediatricians and Speech & Language Therapy Service to deliver a high standard of care for children in Coventry.

Travelling around the city is an integral part of this post, a car owner/ driver is essential for this post.
