NHS Warwickshire North Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) comprises of 28 GP practices and has been authorised by the NHS Commissioning Board to operate as a statutory organisation.

The CCG holds responsibility for commissioning many of the healthcare services for our local population of approximately 188,000 people. The CCG covers the geographical area of North Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth boroughs.

NHS Warwickshire North CCG has built on its first commissioning intentions during the intervening years and has continued to take an inclusive approach during their further development. The CCG has carried on building links with some of the more isolated communities amongst the poplulation.

The CCG aims to involve other clinicians, healthcare professionals, patients and the public, to deliver high quality, safe, efficient and cost effective healthcare services for people across North Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Dr Deryth Stevens, a local GP, and Chair of NHS Warwickshire North CCG, comments: “We remain delighted that we continue to be responsible for commissioning healthcare services for local people.

"Tackling health inequalities in the local area and commissioning of services at George Eliot Hospital are very much our priorities, in order to get the best for our local population. We have formed strong partnerships across the north of the county and we have a lot of local knowledge of the challenges that face our patients from amongst our GP practices. The CCG has come a long way since it formed in 2013 and I am proud of the progress we have made to date.

“As local GPs we are in daily contact with our local population and are able to hear first-hand what is working well in our local NHS and what is not. It is this local clinical knowledge and our commitment to working closely with patients to get their views on services, which means that I hope we will continue to be able to make a real difference to improving local health services.”

CCGs are made up of local GP practices and are responsible for planning, monitoring and buying healthcare services on behalf of its local population health services in the area from April 2013.

The CCG's vision of health and care provision for our local population is to:

Systematically tackle the pressures within the health and social care system to deliver better outcomes for our people. To do this we will seek to commission in a way that reshapes the patients experience of care pathways from end to end.
