Hauora Tairāwhiti is one of the smallest District Health Boards (DHB) in New Zealand, but has great ambitions for the health outcomes for its population of nearly 50,000 residents. We have a 'can do' attitude to healthcare and appreciate and celebrate all cultures and diversity.

The team at Hauora Tairāwhiti is passionate about people. A close-knit team of around 1000 from all walks of life work together to improve health outcomes for all, with a particular focus on improving equity to healthcare for Māori. Tairāwhiti provides a work/life balance which other regions in New Zealand envy. With beautiful beaches and landscapes a matter of minutes from work, we have a particularly outgoing team who enjoy nature and what our region has to offer.
We have strong organisational values of Whakarangatira (to enrich), Awhi (to support), Kotahitanga (togetherness) and Aroha (Compassion) and our kaupapa, our vision, is "Whāia te hauora i Roto i te Kotahitanga - A Healthier Tairāwhiti by working together".
