Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy caters for children and young people with autism and other specific learning difficulties.
We are extremely fortunate to be based in purpose-built facilities designed to deliver a spacious, low-arousal learning environment with excellent autism-specific facilities and resources, allowing us to manage our young people’s needs effectively. Our curriculum is highly differentiated and focuses on delivering a wide range of experiences, with an emphasis on improving the mental health and wellbeing of our young people.
We have an enthusiastic, dedicated, and highly trained professional team committed to providing the highest standard of holistic education for all our young people. We have created a supportive, friendly, and nurturing environment that enables all young people to feel safe and well looked after.
We pride ourselves on the excellent practice and approaches we use to help our young people overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential. Our practice is research based and involves the use of autism-specific strategies such as TEACCH, SCERTS, PECS and Sensory Integration, to name a few.
Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy is a fun place to work and happiness and wellbeing is an absolute priority for both our young people and staff team. We are looking to appoint people that are interested in Autism and passionate about supporting autistic pupils to access education both within the school and in the local community. We are looking for individuals who are flexible, empathetic, creative, resilient and eager learn. We provide a comprehensive range of training and strongly believe in developing people to advance within the field of autism, as well as a supportive, friendly and dynamic culture within the academy.
