The SCCL management function, launched on 1 April 2018, will deliver a new procurement model for the NHS Supply Chain that addresses the current challenges in procurement in the NHS. By contracting with eleven specialist Category Towers that spans medical and non-medical products, the model sets out to deliver a world-class procurement and logistics service to purchase and deliver c£4.5bn of products per annum to the NHS.
The management function will share and support the aims and values of the NHS and generate £2.4bn cash releasing savings (by 2023/2024) that can be reinvested into the NHS to benefit staff and patients.
