Job overview

Central London Community Heath NHS Trust has recently become responsible for delivering Brent Adult and Children’s Community services.

We are expanding the existing workforce by recruiting to the current service portfolio and to the new teams, with the support and leadership of a forward-thinking Senior Management Team. We are therefore looking for a Specialist Long Term Conditions Podiatrists (full time).

It is an exciting time to join our teams in Brent and we are seeking enthusiastic and skilled colleagues to join us as we build on existing models of care and introduce new ways of working.

Our transformation plans over the next 12 months will include further integration with primary care, planned and unplanned care models, and a greater emphasis on population health.

In this role you will be at the forefront of delivering new models of care through transformation that meets the needs of our community and will be able to contribute to it’s development, positively impacting and enhancing the experiences of our patients in Brent.

Main duties of the job

You will provide day-to-day specialist clinical care in a supported environment and within a dynamic team, to a diverse group of patients, supporting the Clinical Team Lead operationally.

Providing day-to-day professional leadership, you will ensure the needs of patients are placed at the centre of care delivery while providing assurance that standards of clinical care within a designated area is of the highest standard attainable.

You will need to demonstrate effective leadership skills alongside excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to teach and inspire colleagues through active demonstration of clinical practice and leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has the drive to deliver the above within a Clinical Business Unit that has good relationships with the local ICS, Local authority and Local acute Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • The post holder will act as a clinical specialist for Podiatric Biomechanics in Harrow CLCH Podiatry Service. You will provide highly specialised advice to patients and be a point of contact for colleagues relating to Biomechanics and the importance of foot function for people affected by MSK injury, dysfunction or disease. Paying particular attention to those patients that present and have been impacted by long term systemic conditions manifesting in the lower limb

 

  • The Post Holder will also be expected to provide cover to general podiatry, high risk, wound care and nail surgery clinics as necessary based on demand of the service.

Education/Qualification

Essential criteria
  • BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
  • Evidence of continual professional and personal development
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of post grad training in specialist area of podiatry
