Job overview

We are looking to recruit an Associate Chief Information Officer for Data Insights and Intelligence as part of the Digital Senior Management Team. This role will be key to enabling the Trust to achieve its ambitions to transform Urgent and Emergency care as a data driven organisation. The post holder will work with the Chief Information Officer and the Digital senior management team to deliver on the Data Insights and Intelligence plans, developing a vision and strategy for data insights and intelligence and building the capability and capacity of the team to support the Trust to deliver it’s ambition to be the best ambulance service in the UK.

The advert will close on 12th May, a Situational Judgement Test for shortlisted candidates will be issued by 15th May and an assessment centre will be held on 22nd May.

Main duties of the job

The post holder in summary will be responsible for

  • Developing a clear strategy and vision for data within NWAS to enable the trust to make better decisions through better data and better analysis
  • Development of the data roadmap in collaboration with senior leaders from across the trust
  • Understanding and advising on the latest trends and insights around the utilisation of data, analytics and artificial intelligence
  • Leading the data teams in delivering a robust, responsive and sustainable service that supports the trust in its strategic aims
  • Working across the Trust to bring leaders and content experts together to use data to evaluate and improve our services
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders within the NHS and outside the NHS

Working for our organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
