Job overview
We would welcome applications to join a vibrant team based at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust (GHNFT). We are looking for an ENT surgeon with a specialism in Head and Neck Cancer and ability to develop a H&N Trans-Oral Robotic Service at the Trust.
The ENT service for Gloucestershire is organised on a countywide basis. We are an exciting, busy district general ENT service offering wide spectrum of ENT services. We are one of the busiest Head and Neck (H&N) cancer services in the South-West, and a nationally recognised cholesteatoma service. Our medium-term strategy is to further expand services, most notably the use of robotics surgery in H&N.
We have a dedicated H&N ward in the trust, with experienced nurses in manging our H&N patients, some with complexes needs due to altered airways with flap reconstruction. We have dedicated H&N theatres, with views of further expansion of theatre space in peripheral hospitals.
Main duties of the job
As an ENT consultant, you will be expected to form part of our consultant team, with a mixture of clinic and theatre standard days and on-call requirements. The appointee will be expected to share responsibility for the delivery of high quality care to the patients presenting to the department and support clinical decision making of junior medical and nursing staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and hard working individual to join our team.
Working for our organisation
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the largest employer in the county and with over 8,000 staff, we are one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK. We offer a generous annual leave allowance, excellent bank rates, access to the excellent NHS Pension Scheme, discounts for local shops, restaurants and services, access to our health and well-being hub, access to our two on-site nurseries, flexible working options, discounted public transport, reward and recognition schemes, exercise and activity classes and membership to our popular hospital choir.
