Mental Health Practitioner - *£7k Incentive
Band 6

As an integrated mental health, learning disability and community Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including:
• Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.
• Specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
• Community physical health and well-being services for children and adults.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. Burnley Community Mental Health Team are seeking to appoint two Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioners. This post provides the opportunity for a forward thinking and experienced individual to develop and implement safe, sound and supportive services that embrace the provision of holistic care. With a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary working and the principles laid out in the Recovery Model, you will need to be an innovative thinker and be able to form effective relationships.
You must be a registered mental health practitioner, with excellent leadership and clinical skills.
You must have significant post qualification experience in clinical work with service users experiencing a range of mental health problems
You need to be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have experience of assessing, planning and implementing and reviewing care needs.
You will also need to have a working knowledge of the care programme approach, risk assessment and management, and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and wellbeing.

1. To undertake mental health assessments including risk assessments within a multi-disciplinary assessment team. Working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist, thus ensuring that there is a multidisciplinary team approach
2. To be proficient in referring to other clinicians within the service or referring to other services/agencies where necessary.
3. To provide a fast, responsive service to assess individuals needs for access into mental health services
4. Providing a communication structure between GPs , IAPT and secondary MH services in LCFT, non-statutory service to ensure the highest possible standards of patient care
5. To provide mentoring and support for others

*The Welcome Bonus is only available to candidates who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider Trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria (LSC) Integrated Care System (ICS) in a like-for-like role or core profession. For example, a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse role at LSCft or in a role such as Mental Health Practitioner Role that requires the same profession.

• University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust
• East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust
• Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
• Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 – 30th June 2025.

The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:
• £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)
• £2,000 after 12 months
• £2,000 after 24 months
PLEASE NOTE: Individuals obtaining assistance through the Welcome Bonus scheme are required to sign an agreement which includes the following:
· return all of monies paid, if they do not start on the agreed date detailed within their unconditional offer
· to return all monies paid if they voluntarily leave the employment of the Trust within 6 months of commencement
· to return all monies paid if they move within the Trust from one role to another role which does not attract the welcome bonus within 6 months of commencement
· if they move to a new role that does not attract the welcome bonus after 6 months then future payments will cease
