You will work in collaboration with an experienced Clinical Leadership team comprised of a Consultant Psychiatrist (supported by a Staff Grade), Clinical Psychologist, Ward Manager, Practice Development Leads (Occupational Therapist and Nurses), and a team of mental health nurses, healthcare assistants and an occupational therapy assistant. The team works alongside a range of other professionals including dietitians, physiotherapist and the healthy living service to support and promote good physical health.
Given the increasing evidence of the link between trauma and emotional distress our service is adopting the principles of trauma informed care. This initiative is in the early stages of its development, so the service requires motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support this innovative way of working. Effective MDT Clinical Leadership drives the service and aspires to equip clinicians with a versatile and comprehensive skillset in order to provide compassionate, therapeutic care. The role of occupation is recognised and valued on the ward. The assessments and interventions provided by OTs are an important part of this therapeutic offer, provided both individually and in groups. You will bring your knowledge, skills and experience to effectively plan and support effective transfers to the community. Successful candidates will be offered structured supervision, appraisal and opportunities for professional development within the workplace.
