Main duties of the job
We are seeking candidates with previous experience in the reporting of cancer imaging, and the support of oncology MDTs and research. This is a general radiology post however subspecialist interests would be welcomed and supported.
Main duties include, but are lot limited to:
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in general radiology, in particular MRI and CT for cancer and potential cancer.
- Provision of radiological reports and investigations as required by the clinical director. This will include plain film reporting and general radiology.
- To provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues in respect of periods of leave, including MDT cover.
On-Call:
The current on-call commitment will be a 1 in 15 general radiological on-call which equates to 1PA. There is an option for a home workstation to be set up for on call reporting. Outside of the hours of 8 am-8pm Monday to Sunday we are supported by an outsourced reporting company.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC
- MBBS or equivalent
- Completion of FRCR or equivalent
- Knowledge of legislation relating to radiology e.g. IR(ME)R 2000
Desirable criteria
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology via: CCT (CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date) or Portfolio Pathway
- Teaching/Education Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in working within a filmless PACS environment
- Experience in Ultrasound scanning
- Experience, knowledge and skills of all aspects of General Radiology including CT,MRI and Ultrasound
Desirable criteria
- Biopsies and drainage procedures
