Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Nurse/Radiographer or Clinical Trial Practitioner to join the Imaging Research Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. 

The post holder will be required to work cross site to support and coordinate Imaging Lead Trials as part of the Imaging Research team. 

The post-holder will be required to work with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team in the recruitment, screening and care of patients entering into clinical trials. The successful applicant will be required to work autonomously and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Imaging trials whereby they can make a valued contribution to increasing the number of patients participating in research to meet national targets.

The post requires excellent communication skills, an understanding of scientific protocols, and the ability to work autonomously.

Experience in working within the field of research is essential, Imaging experience desirable.

The post is full time for a fixed term 12 months Maternity Cover. Part time will also be considered.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Assist in carrying out research studies according to GCP standards in strict accordance with
    the protocol and with local Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support accurate and timely feasibility assessments of proposed studies
  • Ensure studies are recruited to time and target set out in contract
  • Support research studies in accordance to NIHR benchmark; recruitment of first patient within 30days of NHS permission.
  • Support the process of gaining relevant NHS permissions for research studies.
  • Prepare patient documentation for research-related treatment clinics, accurate records of patient care, maintain source data and Case Report Forms and all other trial documents in a manner conducive to audit.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Research Governance, GCP and current legislation relating to research, and to keep up-to-date with changes and new developments.
  • Develop an understanding of the roles of the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) Co-ordinated System for Gaining NHS Permissions (CSP), Research Management & Governance arrangements and Research Ethics Committees.
