A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join Main Outpatient department at Charing Cross Hospital to support in delivering high quality care.

Main duties of the job

•    To support the senior nurse in the provision of professional role modelling and leadership that inspires the professional development of nursing within outpatients 
•    To provide visible clinical leadership and authoritative presence, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality care. 
•    Ensuring that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery. 
•    Support the outpatient improvement programme 
•    To ensure effective operational management of outpatient clinics to ensure standards are monitored and maintained /improved 
•    Work with the multi-professional team on patient pathway redesign to enhance the quality of the patient experience whilst reducing delays, and ensuring patient flows are managed within elective access targets 
•    Ensure local governance structures are in place and lead on delegated projects 
•    Lead on strategies to improve the patient experience across multidisciplinary groups within outpatients and the outpatient pathways including the conduction of discovery interviews

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Degree Level Education
  • Knowledge of research and audit including implementation of findings
  • Experience in change management Experience in project management
Desirable criteria
  • Has attained a Degree in management/ professional nursing issues.
  • Leadership qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum 4 years post registration experience with relevant experience of team leadership.
  • Teaching experience.

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

  • Advanced interpersonal skills

  • Able to manage difficult situations effectively
