Main duties of the job
- MRI scanning of a caseload including Cardiac, abdominal, Gynae, neuro, MSK.
- Liaison with clinical teams and referrers.
- Supervision and training of less experienced and rotational staff. Involvement with research scanning.
- Involvement with administrative/managerial aspects of the department.

Education
Essential criteria
- BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR (D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate study
Experience
Essential criteria
- Up –to-date knowledge of general imaging techniques.
- Experience of working unsupervised.
- Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
- Knowledge of developments within the profession
Desirable criteria
- 4 years post -graduation experience.
- Previous experience at Band 7 level.
- Experience of training staff and students.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff
- Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively
- Ability to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience and circumstances.
Desirable criteria
- Basic teaching, counselling and supervisory skills
- IV injecting skills
- IM injecting skills
