Job overview
A post has been created for an experienced Imaging Assistant to join the CT/MR teams at Charing Cross Hospital.
We are offering the opportunity to work as a specialist CT/MR Imaging assistant to offer training and support to junior colleagues and as a part of the CT/MR teams to enable us to provide effective patient care for patients undergoing CT & MR examinations. We operate 08:00-20:15 daily so the role will involve evening and weekend working within your contracted hours.
The CT/MR departments offer a wide range of examinations for inpatients and outpatients with both clinical and research work being undertaken.
Charing Cross Hospital is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Main duties of the job
- Decontaminating and cleaning dedicated CT & MR equipment, accessories and environment
- Ensuring own safety in CT & MR environment and CT & MR controlled areas and being aware of the safety of others
- To control access of personnel to the CT & MR environment
- Managing blood and body fluid spills
- Maintaining sharps bins/disposal
- Checking electrical equipment, such as accessory equipment switches, ensuring battery operated equipment is working, and PAT test dates are maintained
- Cleaning, moving and charging CT & MR accessory equipment, to facilitate service efficiency and effectiveness

Education
Essential criteria
- Level 3 (A or T-Level) qualifications or equivalent levels of experience
- Completion of care certificate
Desirable criteria
- Previous training within related healthcare role
- IV cannulation certificate
Skills
Essential criteria
- Interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to cope under pressure
- Accuracy with an ability to understand protocol
- Able to communicate clearly both in written and spoken English with a wide range of stakeholders from a multidisciplinary team
