This is more than a Band 7 post—it's an opportunity to drive service delivery, inspire a high-performing team, and collaborate with paediatric specialists across the trust. Based on our 22-bedded general paediatric inpatient unit, you’ll oversee care for patients ranging from neonates to adolescence, including admissions from emergency services, paediatric intensive care units, specialist services such as infectious diseases and referrals from other sites across West London Children’s Hospital.

•    A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a dedication to patient outcomes.
•    Strong communication and organisational skills with confidence in decision-making.
•    A commitment to innovation, transformation, and creating a culture of excellence.

Join a ward where teamwork is second nature, learning is continuous, and your leadership genuinely makes a difference. If you're driven to lead paediatric care with energy, empathy, and expertise, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

In this leadership role, you will:

•    Provide strategic management and day-to-day oversight of the ward
•    Lead workforce planning, clinical governance, and service improvement initiatives
•    Mentor and support junior nurses and drive continuous professional development
•    Foster interprofessional collaboration across critical care, ED, community teams, and ambulatory care
•    Be a visible advocate for child-centred care, ensuring safety, quality, and compassion at every turn
