What We're Looking For:
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (paediatric experience essential)
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Care certificate or equivalent

Main duties of the job
To work as part of a team providing clinical, phlebotomy, stock maintenance and administrative support to the Paediatric service under the supervision of a registered nurse.
To carry out care and treatment tasks, delegated from professionally qualified nursing and medical staff, requiring a wide range of technical ability, numeracy and literacy skills as well as a significant level of interpersonal skills. To supervise less experienced staff in the clinical area, ensuring patient focused care is always delivered.
To ensure the assigned clinical areas are tidy and ordered at all times and maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of the environment.
To ensure that all necessary information is available for the service to operate effectively and to record clinical activity and outcomes using the appropriate hospital systems.

EDUCATION
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3, Care Certificate or 12 months experience at Band 3 or equivalent.
- English Language GCE/GCSE or equivalent
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Skill in performing basic personal care duties and clinical observations and procedures
- The ability to use computers to enter and retrieve information
- Ability to participate in team meetings and make suggestions as appropriate for changes to working practice and procedures based on personal experience and observation.
- Ability to follow written procedures and implement changes to procedures in own work area.
Desirable criteria
- Phlebotomy trained
