Senior Occupational Therapist
Band 6
West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Thank you for taking interest in this exciting new opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist or for an Occupational Therapist looking to develop up into a more senior role, with an interest in inpatient acute Mental Health care.
We are searching for motivated and innovative Occupational Therapist to work within our inpatient services in Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit. Join us and you will play a central role within committed and dynamic teams that are passionate about making a difference to peoples lives.

You will become part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, using your skills and experience to help define and deliver intervention to people on one of our wards that helps them on their road to recovery. We will encourage and help you to learn, develop and grow in this role. This role is also suitable for an experienced Band 5 who is keen to develop up into a Band 6 as we offer developmental opportunities.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
To provide a client-centred occupational therapy service to a defined caseload of service users with complex needs, within the local services working with multi-disciplinary team members and the occupational therapy team.
- To actively develop and implement a framework of care, which reflects a holistic approach to service user needs, and the seven pillars of clinical governance.
- To use evidence-based principles to apply clinical skills and reasoning in occupational therapy, assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation which include individual and group orientated approaches.
- To be a resource for the team, providing, occupational therapy professional guidance, and to lead on the evaluation and continued development of the occupational therapy service
- To provide leadership and taking responsibility for the direct supervision for less clinically experienced staff, support staff and students including conducting Performance Development Review (PDR) as appropriate.

- HCPC Registration
Experience

- Achieved Band 5 OT KSF sub-set (usually through preceptorship programme)
- Achieved full KSF outline for Band 5 OT (usually second year post qualified) Relevant post-qualified OT experience in Mental Health
- Application of core OT skills and OT process

- Experience of supervising /co-supervising students
