You will clinically review proposed Oncology & Red Cell Haematology clinical trials to ensure they are clinically appropriate, financially responsible and can be safely run at the Trust; where issues arise in the review you will work with Consultants, specialist pharmacists, research teams and Sponsors to resolve these.
You will be the clinical pharmacy lead on all pharmaceutical aspects of Oncology & Red Cell clinical trials and help ensure the provision of a high quality Pharmacy service to patients on these clinical trials, in conjunction with the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team and other specialist and operational areas of Pharmacy.
You will provide a clinical screening service for clinical trials and support clinics in Oncology & Red Cell Haematology, liaising with prescribers, nurses and clinical research teams. You will assist with trials of advanced therapies (ATMPs) in Oncology & Red Cell Haematology and work with the Oncology & Haematology ward pharmacists to ensure in-patients on clinical trials have their care optimised according to the clinical trial protocol.
You will support the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials & ATMPs to manage the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team and service and will act as key liaison for one of the three main sites.

- You will advise and assist the Oncology and Red Cell Haematology research teams, Sponsors and the Joint Research Office in the setting up and running of the trials, including clinical, pharmaceutical, financial, GCP and GMP issues. You may set-up and lead on some clinical trials and provide specialist advice and support to the pharmacy technicians and rest of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team.
- You will either have or complete BOPA Passport within the first 12 months in role to support screening of SACT clinical trial prescriptions and will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy services and across all aspects of Pharmacy, to enable you to provide advice and support to other aspects of the service.
- You will contribute to the maintenance and development of the clinical trial service to ensure the smooth running of the clinical trials across the Trust.
- You will actively look to develop and participate in clinical trial reporting, audit and innovative projects in-house and nationally.
- You may line manage pharmacy staff and contribute to the training and development of all grades of pharmacy and other research staff.

- Member of the GPhC

- Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
- London Cancer Alliance Passport for SACT Screening (or equivalent)
Experience

- Oncology and/ or Haematology experience
- Clinical Trials experience
- A solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (ideally to include aseptic services, clinical trials, ward services, dispensing and medicines information)
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients
