Are you a skilled clinician passionate about sexual health and ready to expand your advancing practice role? We are seeking a motivated Band 7 Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner (ECP/NP) or a Band 6 Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / Trainee Nurse Practitioner (tECP/tNP) to join our forward-thinking, inclusive level 3 Integrated Sexual Health Service.
We welcome applicants from nursing, midwifery, or allied health professional backgrounds who are keen to work autonomously in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.
Main duties of the job
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a range of complex sexual and reproductive health presentations, ensuring high standards of patient-centred care.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based interventions in line with national and local clinical guidelines, service protocols, and best practice.
- Contribute to clinical leadership through active involvement in line management, service development, quality improvement initiatives, and innovation in care delivery.
- Support the development of others by providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and training to junior colleagues, students, and trainees within the multidisciplinary team.

Education
Essential criteria
- Professional registration and a degree in related subject
- Post registration qualification(s) at level 7:
- STI Foundation intermediate competencies
- Recognised teaching qualification or demonstrable experience (SSSA)
Desirable criteria
- Recognised independent prescribing module at level 7
- Recognised physical assessment module at level 7
- STI Foundation Advanced competencies
- MSc or MA in related speciality
Experience
Essential criteria
- At least 3.5 years post registration experience, and a minimum of 2 years at band 6 or above, including relevant experience in area of practice
- Experience of working as an enhanced clinical practitioner / nurse practitioner
- Experience of teaching and assessing others
- Experience of audit and service development
Desirable criteria
- Experience of leading and managing others
- Research experience
- Relevant clinical experience (e.g. gynaecology, obstetrics, urology, HIV, infectious diseases)
- Experience of sexual health advising
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- In depth knowledge of area of practice and demonstrates use of evidence-based practice
- Experience with diagnosis and management of STIs, relation conditions and contraception
- Able to demonstrate advanced communication skills and ability to manage a caseload
Desirable criteria
- Ability to lead and influence change
- Ability to design and deliver education programmes
