This is a 12 month fixed-term contract with the position commencing in the month of October 2025.

This is a whole-time post in ENT/Head & Neck Surgery based at UHS with duties at Southampton General Hospital, Royal South Hants Hospital and also Salisbury and Winchester for emergencies. The successful applicant must be able to work unsupervised.

Duties of the post include:
- Supervision of patients in collaboration with other colleagues.
- On-call cover of patients in ENT at University Hospital Southampton, Salisbury and Winchester.
- Ward rounds and weekly cover at University Hospital Southampton for NHS patients for emergency and elective.
- Participation in the Registrar of the week duties

The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Specialty Doctors – England (2021) Salary will be assessed in line with terms and conditions.
Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview.

Qualifications, Training & Experience
Meini prawf hanfodol
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCS or equivalent
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Minimum of four years at Senior Fellow and/or Specialty Doctor level, at least two of which have been in the appropriate speciality
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion in a range of emergency problems within the speciality.
- Ability to take responsibility for the emergency care of patients
- A wide range of clinical skills and practice in the speciality
- Documented audit experience
- Extensive experience in Head & Neck Diagnostics including 2WW clinics and diagnostic GA endoscopy

- Certification or instructor status in ATLS, ALS, APLS, EPLS, MIMMS and/or post graduate qualifications in ENT surgery

- Demonstrate the ability to be calm, compassionate, and able to respond efficiently to various circumstances, which may change rapidly
- Evidence of participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
