Support Service Team Secretary and Cashier

Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the administrative team supporting the Older People’s Inpatient Services and wider teams at The Mount as a Team Secretary and Cashier. The postholder will be responsible for the provision of cashiering services to staff and service users, including managing petty cash transactions and facilitating patient deposits and withdrawals of funds. They will provide secretarial support to the Older People’s inpatient wards, such as transcribing letters and reports and minuting meetings, so previous secretarial experience is essential. They will also provide general administrative support as required, including support for wider teams, under the direction of their line manager.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
Providing secretarial and administrative support to the identified multi-disciplinary teams. This will include (not exhaustive): word processing, audio typing, typing of correspondence and management reports etc.
Regularly handling or processing of cash, cheques or patient valuables, in line with Trust Policy.
Arranging, attending and minuting local meetings, following up actions where appropriate.
Dealing with telephone and personal enquiries from members of the public, GPs and other healthcare professionals, taking messages and providing non-clinical information and advice to patients and relatives within the boundaries of the role.
Supporting clinical and medical staff with diary management.
Maintaining adequate supplies of stock items where appropriate.
Completing general office duties including processing incoming post, printing, photocopying etc.
Dealing appropriately with highly confidential and sensitive material on a regular basis in accordance with the Trust’s Information Governance Policy.
Providing cover for colleagues as required and to ensure the continued smooth running of the service.
Working effectively with members of the wider administration team including Ward Administrators and Receptionists.
