Consultant

Job overview

We are pleased to invite applications for a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Oncological and Urogynaecological Imaging to join our dynamic and supportive team at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. This is an opportunity to work in a thriving Cancer Centre with a strong culture of clinical excellence, quality improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will join a forward-thinking and friendly Radiology department, supporting sub-specialty cancer services including prostate, bladder, gynaecological, and colorectal MDTs. We are expanding to meet rising demand for cross-sectional imaging and are keen to shape the role around your skills and interests.

We pride ourselves on being a high-performing, well-led organisation that fosters development, inclusion and continuous improvement. Our department has benefitted from recent investment in state-of-the-art MRI and interventional imaging equipment, and we have expanded into the community through a new Community Diagnostic Centre at Milford.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a service in general and specialist areas of radiology.
  • Provision of radiological reports and investigations as required by the clinical director.  This will include plain film reporting and general radiology.
  • To fully participate in the Clinical and where appropriate Educational Supervision of trainees.
  • To play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.

Working for our organisation

Recognising that our 5000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program along with a commitment to developing and advancing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family will ensure you that you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.

We are clinically led and provide joined up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have given us an overall rating of Outstanding.

Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.

Although it isn't the Trusts normal practice, adverts may close early, so you are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.
