Specialist Pharmacist

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and patient-focused pharmacist to join our dynamic pharmacy team at St Bernard’s Hospital, working within our forensic mental health inpatient services.
As a Specialist Pharmacist in WLFS, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based pharmaceutical care to patients with complex mental health needs. You will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team, supporting safe and effective medicines use while promoting recovery and improved health outcomes.
This is a rewarding and challenging role where your clinical expertise will directly contribute to patient wellbeing. You will be involved in medication reviews, patient counselling and service improvement initiatives. You will also provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals and contribute to staff and patient education.
We are looking for a proactive, compassionate, and skilled pharmacist with a strong interest in mental health. Prior experience in psychiatric or forensic settings is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
· To be an active member of the team of clinical pharmacists providing an interactive, high quality, patient focused clinical pharmacy across Trust Sites as required.
· To support the pharmacy team in WLFS.
· To support the Advanced Specialist Pharmacists in the provision and review the service. Responsible for managing and delivering comprehensive prescribing advice and medicines information for WLT clinicians, patients and carers.
· Responsible for ensuring the safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of medicines; to undertake medicine audits on behalf of the pharmacy team.
· To be involved in the smooth running of clinical trials when required.
· To be actively involved in research and development when required and to be involved in publications of research.
· To contribute to the smooth, safe, effective, timely running of the St Bernard’s dispensary service as necessary.

Qualifications
Meini prawf hanfodol
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- General Pharmaceutical Council membership
- Post graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (Band 7); Commitment to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (Band 6)
Meini prawf dymunol
- Membership of College of Mental Health Pharmacists
- Member of the RPSGB
- Postgraduate certificate and diploma in Psychiatric Therapeutics
Experience

- At least 3 years post-registration training and experience in hospital Pharmacy. This must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing)
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients
- Practical Clinical experience including: Multidisciplinary team experience Direct Patient contact with Mental Health patients
- Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice

- Experience of working within a mental health environment
