Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (ARRS)
Band 6
Our Vision is to provide the best mental health, learning disability, autism and community based services for the populations we serve.
As an integrated mental health, learning disability and community Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including:
• Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.
• Specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
• Community physical health and well-being services for children and adults.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. Carnforth and Milnthorpe Primary Care Network (PCN) is excited to announce an opportunity for Two Part Time Mental Health Practitioners to join our dedicated and dynamic team. Located on the picturesque border of North Lancashire and South Cumbria, our PCN consists of two practices, Ash Trees Surgery and Park View Surgery, where we prioritize exceptional patient care and collaborative teamwork.
As part of our services across Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS), we are excited to be able to implement Mental Health Practitioner roles across the Primary Care Networks to support GPs with ‘on the day’ Mental Health assessment and support for patients.
These are roles designated under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme for Primary Care (ARRS). The roles will provide an opportunity for better joint working across primary care and adult secondary care mental health systems and will make it easier for patients to obtain the help they need.

- Working in various statutory settings with knowledge of primary care.
- Effectively managing complex clinical situations
