Job overview

This is an exciting secondment opportunity for the right individual to join the NWAS Resilience and Special Operations Team.

 

This advert is for a Secondment in post until 31st August 2026.

 

The post holder will be responsible for devising, preparing, managing, facilitating, recording and where necessary delivery of appropriate high-quality education & training programmes to support the efficacy and deployment of the HART / Special Operations capability.

Main duties of the job

As an integral member of the Resilience team, the post holder will work across the region supporting HART staff in their mandated training requirements.

Working for our organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications and Education

Essential criteria
  • HCPC Registered Paramedic.
  • Higher Education Diploma in Paramedic Practice or Equivalent Qualification
  • Hold a teaching qualification that is recognised for the delivery of the ambulance awards. CertEd, IHCD, NVQ or be working towards one or relevant past experience
  • Current or previous qualifications in HART
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Evidence of working in Multi agency environment
Desirable criteria
  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • Operational Command Qualification
  • Tactical Command Qualification
  • NILO

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problems solving skills with ability to act on decisions
