The Trust is seeking a General Practitioner Physician with Specialist Interest in Learning Disability to provide physical health support and prescribing to our health respite services for a 3 month period in the first instance.

Working for our organisation

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This post is 4 PAs, working with the Clinical Team Manager and Senior Nurses in the health respite service based at 2 and 3 Woodlands Square. This will involve working clinically to provide medical oversight and support of service users accessing respite with complex multiple impairments and challenging behaviour. Prescribing will be a key element of the role, working closely with the nursing team following pre-admission calls. The role involves annual reviews of service users within respite, and supporting the development of health respite, including the nursing team, to provide the best possible care for the service users in respite.

The role will also deliver some medical consultancy across other parts of the learning disability service as required.
