Job overview
Water Meadow View is a new mental health inpatient unit for adults who have learning disabilities, which is due to open in late 2025 on our site in Whittingham, Preston. As we prepare to open this unit, we have an exciting opportunity for Ward Administrators to join us and support the Multi-Disciplinary Team to deliver outstanding person centred care.
One of the Trust's aims is to deliver the best possible care to our patients, and this new inpatient unit will do just that. Water Meadow View will offer clinical excellence, support, and safety, with patient-centred care at its heart.
The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and high standard of administrative service to the ward; to ensure that a welcoming and professional greeting service is provided to patients and visitors; to ensure the smooth running of the admission and discharge process for patients on the ward and to ensure accurate and timely completion of data recording.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver on key responsibilities
- The post holder will be aligned to a specific ward/locality and is required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the networks administrative service providing cover on various sites as directed by their Line Manager to ensure continuity of a quality service provision.
- The post holder will work across a 7 day shift rota.
- The post holder will have knowledge of all the relevant customer service procedures applicable to this role as well as the ability to deal with non-routine activities that arise. Problem solving is an integral part of the role.
- The role will involve contact on a daily basis with a wide range of people and therefore requires a confident approach. The post holder will need to be a team player with very strong communication skills.
