CYPMH Assistant Practitioner

Our Vision is to provide the best mental health, learning disability, autism and community based services for the populations we serve.
As an integrated mental health, learning disability and community Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including:
• Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.
• Specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
• Community physical health and well-being services for children and adults.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative, dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary Community CYPMH in LSCFT- Fylde and Wyre. The children & young people who access our services present with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties ranging from moderate to severe.
You would be joining an established, supportive and hardworking team who are passionate about improving the outcomes for the children, young people and their families/carers.
As a Community CAMHS Mental Health assistant Practitioner you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team offering consultation, assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people we serve

Main duties of the Community CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner include:
• Supporting mental health assessments and formulations
• Building therapeutic relationships with children and young people and delivering evidence based interventions (including group treatment)
• Liaising with and offering consultation to other agencies
• Contributing to all aspects of positive team functioning
• Contributing to ongoing service innovations and development

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Qualifications
Meini prawf hanfodol
- NVQ Level 4 or HND qualification in child/social studies, Health or Education or Social Services or equivalent.
- Level 3 will be considered if individual has considerable practical experience
Knowledge

- Knowledge of signs and symptoms of a range of problematic psychological presentations (attachment, anxiety, low resilience, low self-confidence etc).
Experience

- Evidence of working with children and young people who present with emotional difficulties
- Evidence of providing family support to parents/carers presenting with psychological difficulties.
- Previous experience working with young people who self-harm
- Previous experience of working in a community setting with children, young people and their families with significant mental health presentations and /or social care needs and/or educational needs.
