An opportunity has arisen on the Hammersmith site to join the physiotherapy team as the specialist physiotherapist for Private Patients. Our friendly department is full of opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic physiotherapist who wishes to develop a range of clinical and managerial expertise. The role will offer the opportunity to work with various patient groups including: Gynaecological surgery, Cardiac sciences, Hepatobiliary, Renal medicine and transplant, endocrine, and haemotology. This role will include the opportunity to develop a pre-op service for patients to expand the Physiotherapy role within Private patients at Hammersmith Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist, with a keen interest in developing and running private patient physiotherapy services, a wide range of clinical experience, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centred care. You will have the opportunity to develop your specialist skills and knowledge and managerial skills through the delivery and evaluation of a service.
We offer a comprehensive in-service training and induction programme. Internal and external courses are supported, and opportunities for postgraduate study exist. Our established appraisal system facilitates career development and progression.

You will have support from band 7 colleagues within other specialities and also Band 8a clinical lead/ specialist physiotherapists and work closely with the well-established multi-disciplinary team. Alongside the clinical case load you will have the responsibilities of supervising student physiotherapists, the day to day service delivery and ensuring a high quality service is developed to these patients. You will also work closely with the band 8a physiotherapist to help with the continuous development of the services as we have a passion to ensuring a high class patient centred service.

- Degree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
- State registration with the Health Professions Council
- Evidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio, especially in the relevant clinical area
- Clinical Educators course or equivalent

- Membership of the Professional Organisation
- Membership of Professional special interest groups relevant to speciality
- Relevant Postgraduate clinical qualification
- Management skills or leadership training
Experience

- Significant recent clinical experience in relevant clinical area
- Evidence of a broad base of clinical experience at Band 6 level or equivalent
- Significant experience of working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team and inter-agency working
- Experience of multidisciplinary goal planning, development of care pathways and using outcome measures
- Experience of organising and implementing training programmes for therapists, MDT members, support workers, students and apprentices
- Experience of service development/change management
- Experience in implementing evidence based practice in speciality
- Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute hospital (if required for job role)

- Previous Band 7 or equivalent experience in relevant post
- Leadership of a therapy team
- Recent relevant work in an NHS environment

- Ability to remain updated with professional practice and research and integrate this into daily patient management
- Understanding of clinical governance and the implications for therapy services including experience of quality issues and audit
- Skills in supervision, mentoring and coaching
- Ability to cope with working in a stressful environment and with emotional or aggressive patients or carers
- Competent IT skills
- Clear vision of role and commitment to the specialty
- Fluent in written English
- Ability to analyse activity and outcome data accurately and objectively
