Are you a physiotherapist looking to develop your skills within the Paediatric setting?
The Hounslow Physiotherapy Team are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic therapist to join the Children’s Therapy Team. You will join an established team of Physiotherapists working in an integrated service with Children’s Occupational Therapists and Children’s Speech and Language Therapy.
Our team provides a comprehensive service profile to a varied and diverse population within the community, including schools and clinics. Our team specialises in the treatment and management of children who have neurodevelopmental, neuromuscular and childhood musculoskeletal conditions. Our aim is to enable these children to reach their full potential for movement and participation.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has a passion to work with children. Previous general paediatric experience is desirable but full support and mentorship will be provided. You will have a mixed caseload of both MSK and neuro conditions.
Ideally you will have twelve months broad post registration physiotherapy experience
Main duties of the job
In order to develop therapists and develop further best practice standards, Band 5 Physiotherapists working within this team will obtain structured experience in the various streams of care our team provides. This includes: Under 5’s Neurodevelopmental, Over 5’s Neurodevelopmental, Special Schools and the Musculoskeletal Stream, including early year’s issues such as talipes, Erbs palsies and torticollis.
Additionally, you will receive:
• Peer support from an experienced and friendly Band 7 Leadership Team and additional support and leadership from the Band 6 team.
• Strong multi-professional team working
• A comprehensive and structured supervision and appraisal format
•A strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) – core
competencies relating to the development of Paediatric Physiotherapy Service Provision
We adopt a number of specialist clinical approaches in order to support our clients including Bobath, Posture Management pathways and the assessment and provision of specialist orthotics, as well as using a number of well recognised assessment tools including: Movement ABC, BOT 2, Peabody, GMFCS, GMFM, Mymop, Chailey, The Oxford Assessment of Disability.
The post holder would be based at Heart of Hounslow and may have to commute to schools and homes within the borough.

Essential criteria
- Graduate Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Registered with Health Professions Council
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate CPD activities
- Working knowledge of broad range of relevant clinical areas
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Membership of relevant Clinical Interest Group / Special Interest Group
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience as a junior level PT
- Experience working as part of a physiotherapy team and/or multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in a range of clinical areas eg Respiratory, Elderly, MSK, orthopaedics and neurology
