About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join West London NHS Trust as an Operational Effectiveness Manager, supporting delivery of high-quality, efficient, and person-centred care across our borough-based services.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of our new local delivery model, which brings together mental health and community (physical health) services across Ealing, Hounslow, and Hammersmith & Fulham.

Working closely with Borough Clinical Directors, Associate Borough Directors, and multi-disciplinary teams, you will lead on performance, improvement and implementation of change—ensuring services are responsive, equitable, and digitally enabled.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and performance leadership across borough services, ensuring safe and effective care.
  • Translate data into insight, supporting teams to understand performance and drive improvement.
  • Lead borough-level productivity, digital optimisation, and transformation initiatives.
  • Support pathway redesign in line with national programmes such as the Community Mental Health Framework and Mental Health Inpatient Quality Transformation Programme.
  • Ensure robust governance, risk management, and CQC readiness through strong local assurance systems.
  • Build partnerships with primary care, local authorities, and voluntary sector organisations to deliver integrated, population-based care.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent senior-level experience in a relevant discipline
  • Post-graduate or equivalent senior-level experience in a relevant discipline
  • Evidence of up-to-date and sustained personal and professional development
  • Relevant leadership or management qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Formal programme or project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Lean, QI)
  • Training in digital transformation or business intelligence
  • Clinical qualification and/or registration.

Experience

  • Experience supporting operational delivery and improvement in an NHS or similar setting
  • Experience in performance improvement, transformation, and cultural change

  • Experience preparing reports for governance and assurance forums
  • Experience operating under pressure in complex systems

Knowledge
