We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated HCPC-registered Radiographers to join our friendly Imaging team at Charing Cross Hospital, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust employs over 13,000 staff, providing care to around one million people every year across our five hospitals and a growing number of community services in North West London. With 50 clinical specialities, we have one of the largest and most diverse portfolios in the country.

`Charing Cross Hospital provides a wide range of acute and specialist services, including a 24/7 Accident & Emergency Department and the hyper-acute stroke unit for the region. It is also developing as a key hub for integrated care, working in partnership with local GPs and community providers.

This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop and expand your clinical skills, including the chance to train in CT and MRI. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working collaboratively to deliver the highest standards of patient care.

You will need excellent communication skills, a flexible approach, and a commitment to participating in extended working hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • To carry out radiographic examinations across a range of modalities to the agreed standard of the department.
  • Complete high-quality examinations consistent with ALARA principles.
  • To maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort and be patient focused at all times.
  • To work in an efficient and effective manner at all times.
  • To plan, prioritise and organise own workload.
  • To vet request forms for validity and appropriateness.
  • To evaluate the quality of imaging acquired and determine whether repeat or additional acquisitions are required.
  • To undertake intravenous cannulation and administration of medicines in line with departmental policy.
  • To report any untoward incidents and equipment failure to the relevant modality lead radiographer and where appropriate medical physics expert.
  • To report incidents or near misses via the DATIX system and to report defective equipment as soon as possible.
  • To work unsupervised as and when required.
  • To work using own initiative but be aware own limitations and seek guidance when necessary.
  • To work flexibly based on requirements of service.
  • Contribute to minimising hospital-acquired infections.
  • To carry out duties which may be considered necessary and consistent with the responsibilities of the post.
  • To vet request forms for validity and appropriateness

  • Health and Care Professions Council Registration
  • Evidence of career-long commitment to CPD
  • College of Radiographers or equivalent accredited IV cannulation course

  • Student Clinical Assessors Course
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant area
  • PgC/PgD or MSc in relevant clinical modality

Experience
