Clinical CAMHS Social Worker

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Are you a Social Worker with significant experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties, and interested in working in CAMHS?
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team holding a caseload, providing mental health assessments and a range of evidence-based clinical interventions to children, adolescents and their families. They will offer training and advice to professionals working across multi-agencies. They will provide input to the CAMH Social Work structure and Quality Improvement initiatives in Hounslow CAMHS.
The successful candidate will join our friendly Tier 3 Adolescent Team within Hounslow Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.
We are looking for enthusiastic, skilled and innovative clinicians with a broad range of specialist and generic experience, who will be able to maintain clinical curiosity and engage in reflective practice as well as be able to be an advocate for children, young people and families' needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and skilled clinician to:
• Provide high-quality specialised CAMHS assessment and therapeutic interventions as well as risk management work for children and young people presenting with complex and severe mental health problems.
• Provide an accessible, mental health assessment and intervention for children and young people that is sensitive to their cultural, ethnic, religious, contextual, family and developmental needs.
• Promote mental health, well-being and personal and family growth with an emphasis on working towards client goals, giving the client informed choices, as well as using appropriate, evidence-based available resources and treatment packages.
• Make clear autonomous decisions based on analysis of complex presenting problems & judgments based on available treatment options.
• Offer specialist advice and consultation to other professionals across a range of agencies including: primary care, social care, and education.
• Confidently communicate at a high level both verbally and in writing, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Provide training, consultation and advice to colleagues in the team and across multi-agencies involved with child and adolescent mental health.

- Degree or Diploma in Social Work with additional therapeutic qualifications
- Active Professional registration with Social Work England (SWE)
- Post registration training/ equivalent experience in child and adolescent mental health.

- Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) stage 2 qualification
- CYP IAPT Trainings, e.g. CBT, Systemic Family Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy [IPT], Under 5’s, Parent Training
- Other post-graduate qualifications in: CBT, Systemic Foundation Years, EMDR, Mindfulness. Mentalizing Trainings
Experience

- Demonstrable post registration experience in mental health Including extensive experience of assessment and therapeutic direct work with children and adolescents with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties.
- Experience of providing consultation and liaison support to colleagues, referral agencies and services responsible for the care, support and wellbeing of service users and their families/carers
- Demonstrable experience of working in multidisciplinary clinical teams and contributing a professional social work perspective
- Experience in assessing and managing high risk behaviours and in developing and implementing risk management plans
- Experience of management of child protection emergencies Experience of advising multidisciplinary colleagues about child and adult safeguarding
- Experience of working in a number of ways i.e. assertive outreach, clinic based settings, home, school or other appropriate environments
- Experience of using therapeutic skills, such as CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Work, Parenting
