At Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, you’ll join one of the UK’s most dynamic paediatric teams across five world-class hospitals. Whether you’re new to healthcare or looking for a fresh challenge, this is your chance to make a real difference while learning and growing in a supportive environment.

On our vibrant 25-bedded Great Western Ward, every day brings variety and purpose. You’ll support the nursing team in caring for patients from newborns through to young adults, helping with day-to-day tasks that make a big impact – from assisting with personal care and observations to providing comfort and reassurance to families.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Demonstrate a courteous, friendly and helpful approach to patients, colleagues and relatives, greet them orientate patients and visitors to the area. 
  • Minimise queue on the reception area and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Introduce yourself to new arrivals and explain your part in their journey.
  • Where appropriate, use the patients name when talking to them, maintain eye contact and smile.
  • To respond in a helpful way to all enquiries from patients, relatives, carers and staff and be empathetic to the needs of patients who may be anxious or distressed.
  • Ensure effective and appropriate communication with staff, patients, relatives and visitors, maintaining confidentiality and information governance at all times.
  • Answer the telephone, respond to queries and take messages, referring to the nurse or doctor in charge when appropriate. Be able to redirect incoming calls and access the bleep system. 
  • Communicate effectively via Trust email and check emails for relevant Trust and management information
