We are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward-thinking pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Specialist Medicine Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The team provides clinical pharmacy services across several specialties within the Specialist Medicine directorates. In this role, you will be the lead pharmacist for rheumatology services.
This is a really exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to work closely with rheumatology specialists in a fast moving area of practice to optimise patients’ treatment.
We are looking for a self-motivated and organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be confident working with a wide range of healthcare professionals and comfortable using various IT systems and databases.

- Supporting prescribing in rheumatology
- Providing support to the biologics review clinics
- Managing Homecare services and funding applications for high-cost medicines in rheumatology
- Monitoring and processing Homecare prescriptions
- developing pharmacist clinics in rheumatology
- managing & developing a band 7 pharmacist (also 0.5WTE rheumatology)
- developing and reviewing medicine pathways
- Financial reporting (e.g. biosimilar savings, CIP schemes)
- Guideline development and review
- Formulary and interface work

- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Higher degree or diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent relevant postgraduate experience
- Undertakes continuing professional development (CPD) and maintains a CPD portfolio

- Qualified as an Independent Prescriber
- Related Post Graduate Qualification
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain

- Appropriate post-registration training and experience in hospital Pharmacy this must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing)
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients
- Practical Clinical experience with broad knowledge of therapeutics
- Evidence of effective independent & multidisciplinary team working Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice

- Experience of drug expenditure reporting
- Experience of managing funding applications for high cost drugs
- Evidence of research or project work
- Knowledge or experience of working with patients prescribed biologics in rheumatology, gastroenterology & dermatology
