Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic band 5 CWP to join our friendly team and support the delivery of low intensity interventions in schools and Community settings for children & young people in Ealing. This role is for candidates who have completed the CYP MH Child Wellbeing Practitioner training and are eligible to be registered as a CWP with a BABCP or BPS
The CWP team, which is based in Ealing Mental Health Support Team (MHST) has a very well-established and highly valued team of CWPs within it. You will be working under the leadership and supervision of the CWP supervisor, alongside Trainee CWPs within the CWP / community pathway of Ealing MHST. You will play a key role in expanding our community offer as well as supporting the band 4 Trainee CWPs in the community.
Main duties of the job
You will be working with young people (0-18), families, carers and internal and external professionals. You will be expected to contribute to clinical consultation and advice to non-clinical groups, e.g. Schools and voluntary sector professionals.
A large part of this role will be devoted developing the CWP community pathway. This unique pathway established in Ealing CAMHS started as a community link worker project with who developed links with various BAME communities like the Sikh, Somali, Arab, Polish and Sri Lankan as well as other charity organisations & faith-based places. As a result of this work, we have seen an increase in referrals to CAMHS teams from under-represented groups following this project and hope to continue to maintain and develop these relationships further through this new Band 5 CWP role.
The successful candidate will be connecting with communities in Ealing who are underrepresented in CAMHS to engage them, understand their views about mental health and any barriers for taking help & to raise awareness and promote mental health support (NHS and non-NHS) within these communities. You will be taking an active role, in the development of specialist provision of specific community projects to understand hard to reach communities, increase accessibility of CAMHS services within these communities as well as support in development of culturally sensitive CAMHS services.

Essential criteria
